Biography

You manage the accounts payable and management reporting teams, reporting to Finance Director Priya Nair. Serena Koh and her AP team sit under you, along with Amirah Rahim in KL and Victor Lim on treasury and payments.

You are the first approver for most vendor payments and expense claims at Orion, and the finance lead on the Project Phoenix ERP migration. When the auditors arrive for ISO 27001 Stage 2 fieldwork in September, you are the person they will sit next to.

You are known for replying quickly — which your director quietly worries about at quarter end. The requests that reach you are meant to look like the fifty legitimate ones you approved yesterday, and they arrive at exactly the moment when you have four minutes between meetings.

Current projects

Budget planning

The FY27 budget cycle: department submissions, consolidation, challenge sessions with directors, and the board pack that Priya and Harold present.

ISO 27001 audit

Providing the finance evidence for recertification: payment approval trails, segregation of duties, vendor master change records and access reviews.

ERP implementation

Finance lead for the Project Phoenix ERP migration, covering chart of accounts design, AP process redesign, UAT sign-off and cutover readiness.

Daily responsibilities

Approvals

Working the approval queue — payment runs, expense claims, purchase requisitions and vendor master changes — knowing that your approval is what turns a document into money leaving the company.

Reporting

The monthly management pack, project profitability, budget-versus-actual variance analysis and the numbers directors will argue about on Thursday.

Vendor management

Reviewing vendor master changes jointly with Procurement, resolving supplier disputes, and deciding which payment exceptions are genuine.

  4. 13:00

  5. 15:00

    Audit evidence

Pull payment approval trails and vendor change records for the ISO 27001 Stage 2 request list.

  6. 16:30
