Biography

You run day-to-day marketing execution at Orion: the content calendar, the social channels, the events, and the small army of external suppliers that a 600-person conference requires.

The Orion Tech Summit is eleven weeks out. Registration platform, AV contractor, catering, stand builders, sponsors, speakers — most of them new this year, all of them emailing you constantly, all from addresses you have never seen before.

You reply fast because that is what the job rewards. You open attachments because they are always briefs, artwork, invoices or contracts. You click links because they are always registration dashboards or shared drives. Every instinct that makes you good at this job also makes you an excellent target.

Current projects

Orion Tech Summit

Delivering the 14 October summit at Sands Expo: 600 attendees, 18 speakers, 9 sponsors, and a supplier list that grows every week. You own registration, speaker logistics and vendor liaison.

OrionOne product launch

The launch campaign for Orion's managed-platform offering: agency briefs, campaign assets, paid social and a launch event tied to the summit.

Daily responsibilities

Vendors and suppliers

Briefing agencies, chasing artwork, collecting quotations, and routing new suppliers through procurement onboarding rather than just paying them yourself.

Events

Registration platform administration, speaker travel and slides, sponsor deliverables, run sheets and the endless logistics of an offsite venue.

Social media and content

Managing Orion's corporate accounts, the monthly newsletter and the content calendar — including the credentials to every platform that publishes in the company's name.

A typical workday

Fifteen minutes with Jonathan on the critical path. Registration numbers are behind target.

  3. 11:00

Chase the stand builder for drawings, send the catering brief, get a new supplier onto the procurement form.

  4. 13:30

    Content production

Review agency artwork, schedule the week's social posts, draft the newsletter.

  5. 15:00

    Speaker logistics

Flights, hotels and bios for three regional speakers, coordinated through Yasmin in the Executive Office.

  6. 17:00

    Campaign reporting

Pull the week's campaign metrics for Jonathan's report to Adeline.
