Company programmes

Current initiatives

Five programmes are running across the company right now. Every one of them creates urgency, unfamiliar contacts and exceptions to the normal process — which is exactly why they matter.

Project Phoenix

In flight — Phase 2 of 4

Migration of Orion's own 14-year-old ERP platform to SAP S/4HANA, covering finance, procurement, project accounting and payroll interfaces.

  • Finance general ledger and accounts payable cutover scheduled for the FY27 Q1 weekend freeze.
  • Vendor master data is being cleansed and re-verified before migration — 1,400 supplier records in scope.
  • User acceptance testing runs across Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Ho Chi Minh City with 60 nominated testers.
  • External implementation partner on site three days a week; a large number of unfamiliar consultant email addresses are currently in circulation.

Orion Tech Summit 2026

Planning — 11 weeks out

Orion's flagship annual client conference: 600 attendees, 18 speakers, 9 sponsors and a supplier list that grows every week.

  • Registration platform, AV contractor, catering and stand builders are all new suppliers this year.
  • Sponsor invoices and speaker travel reimbursements are processed on an accelerated approval path.
  • The CEO delivers the opening keynote; speaker logistics run through the Executive Office.
  • Marketing is running paid social and email campaigns to a purchased attendee list.

ISO 27001 Recertification Audit

Stage 1 complete — Stage 2 fieldwork in September

Three-yearly recertification of Orion's information security management system, covering all three offices and the managed-services practice.

  • Evidence collection under way across access control, payment controls, training records and physical security.
  • External auditors will request documentation directly from staff during Stage 2 fieldwork.
  • Access reviews, joiner-mover-leaver records and phishing simulation results are all in scope.
  • A non-conformity here would jeopardise two client contracts that mandate certification.

Q3 FY26 Financial Close

Active — close window opens in 9 days

The quarterly consolidation, reporting and audit-schedule cycle across the Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam entities.

  • Accruals, intercompany recharges and revenue recognition all land in the same six-day window.
  • Payment runs continue on the normal Tuesday and Friday cadence, with a higher volume of urgent supplier requests.
  • Management reporting pack is due to the board five working days after close.
  • The finance team works late; approval requests arrive at unusual hours and get answered quickly.

FY27 Graduate Recruitment Programme

Applications open — assessment centres in November

Orion's fifth graduate intake: twelve places across consulting, engineering and finance, recruited from six regional universities.

  • High volume of inbound applications, CVs and portfolio attachments from unknown senders.
  • Campus events and assessment centres run at external venues with third-party facilitators.
  • Offer letters and pre-employment screening involve sensitive personal data.
  • Graduate onboarding in February brings twelve new accounts, devices and access requests at once.
